2020 Resolutions – Looking Forward

I don’t do New Year’s Resolutions. But I’ve made 3 this year.

1) Stop making crab dip. I’m mildly allergic to shellfish. And the lowest imitation crab I’ve ever found was still 3% real crab meat. I will however make wonton dip. My recipe for wonton dip is the same as for crab dip, it just leaves out the crab and therefore doesn’t require me to sterilize my kitchen with Clorox wipes after making it.

2) The release of The Dysfunctional Mob on my blog went over really well. As have the character blog posts I’ve been doing for the last couple of weeks. I want to do more character blog posts in the future. They are fun and fairly easy to write and I enjoy them. Also, you all seem to be enjoying them as well. So, there will be a week of character posts every month in 2020. Some will deal with books I’ve just published and some will deal with the thoughts/feelings/lack of feelings of my main cache of characters. A few like Melina and Myrna’s will give insight into the lives, thoughts, and actions of characters that would never fit into a book. Other’s like Xavier and Lucas’s posts about mapping the psychopathic genome are “secret information” that also would be hard to casually and effectively work into a book. And sometimes, you’ll get posts from the “other characters” for example I have written a blog post from the point of view of The Wizard from Anonymous Dreams (will publish in January) that will publish in February, after the book has released and everyone’s had a chance to read it. Which means more free content for you. And as I get them written, published, and accumulated, I will compile them and release them in ebook form using Book Funnel. That’s worked well for releasing The Dysfunctional Mob (you can think C. Patt for that by the way).

3) My mom has been put in charge of my Etsy store. When a sale is made, she gets an alert as do I. She’s a lot better about getting things shipped than I am. I don’t know why I have an aversion to shipping things, but the stress of it can and does make me physically ill. Sometime in January, autographed books will go in the store as well as all my extra crochet stuff (a girl really only needs so many ear warmers and scarves and washcloths – currently I own 8 scarves and I usually wear an ear warmer under my stocking cap, but I have 5 ear warmers and 7 stocking caps).

If I was going to list a fourth, it would be to publish more books. But we all already know that’s going to happen. I have 6 books written completely and 2 others past the halfway mark.

What are your resolutions for the year?

  1. Read more…..again! I used to read a lot while waiting at my husband’s job for him to finish a shift….would often go ‘too’ early in order to read more lol. But since he’s retired completely, my reading has fallen off & so I must get back into a routine again. I have loads of ‘real’ books along with even more e-books….time to get them finished & onto new ones! Happy & Health New Year!!

  2. I also don’t usually do resolutions but I do need to get healthier. I also need to get help with my depression over my daughter’s murder. I hope doing both will help with my pain management.
